Hi everyone,

Some of you might have heard rumours about a large quantity of NOS (new old stock) Amiga 1200′s suddenly appearing out of nowhere. It is now confirmed that Petro T. Tyschtschenko have obtained 500 of these! Incredible, but true. :)

These will be available for purchase shortly and they will cost 150 EUR each. As far as I’ve understood, these are Amiga Magic Pack bundles that were sold by Escom back in the middle of the 1990′s. :)

This is probably the last chance for an Amiga freak (and other retro enthusiasts) to get hold of a brand new Amiga 1200. :)

You can read more about this on Amiga.org: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=61870&page=2

Are you considering getting one of these machines by the way?

Nice. I can’t believe I get one however. 500 units is not much. I’ll better spend some cash on replacement parts for my original Ami, and FPGA.
Good catch anyhow! Thanks for the news.

      Hi Backtothecode,

      Thanks for commenting. :)

It’s cool that you’re going to restore your old Amiga. Hope you’ll post something about the progress on your blog. Several interesting FPGA alternatives out there. The one I think is most exciting is the FPGA Arcade Replay board.. that one will be an ass-kicker!

Would be nice to own one, but I don’t have the cash. Plus I don’t think I need a third computer sitting up in my room at the moment. Fourth if you count my laptop.

I’m definitely considering one of these. The only problem I foresee is that I don’t want to use a brand new A1200. I would want to keep it nice and new in its box forever! :-)
I don’t see any ordering details yet? The price is very reasonable, but I wonder how much shipping will be.

      Hi Mads,

Glad to hear you are considering getting one. :) Maybe buy two? One for usage and one for the collection? ;)

I’ve heard that it will be possible to order the machines in a few weeks. I’m sure Petro will set up some kind of order-form for us.

will amigakit be selling some of these? when can we buy?

    • oldschoolgameblog July 1, 2012 at 07:16

      Hi The Boggit,

Thank you for your comment. :)

I don’t think AmigaKit will be stocking any of the NOS Amiga 1200′s from Petro. Guess we’ll have to wait until a suitable ordering system is set up by him. Time will show what happens!

Oh, I would so pay the AU$176 for one of these babies ^_^. Keep me in the loop if you hear of when they’re actually appearing for sale!

      Hi mate,

Long time, no see! Congratulations with your new blog-setup btw. Looks cool! :)

I’ll give you a sign if I hear something. Has been a bit quiet concerning these machines, but I’ll have a look around now.

I just love that large, chunky white keyboard. I so remember using those! Funny…
