Vacation: Bringing the GBA

On the upcoming Sunday this week, I’ll be going on a one week vacation to Rhodes. This blog won’t be updated for a few days, but I’ll be back with new strength after some time in the sun. :) Hopefully I’ll get some good ideas for future articles while sunbathing. ;)

I need to have my gaming fix on the trip, so I’ll bring my Gameboy Advance (GBA).

The following games will keep me company:

- Final Fight

- Super Mario World

- Mario Kart

- Pacman

I’ve got a pair of nice headphones for the GBA, so that I can play with sound on the plane. Good stuff.

Literature for the beach? I guess I’ll bring a couple of sci-fi books and my trusty AMOS Pro manual. ;)

Are you going on vacation this summer?

Wish you all a nice summer and hope to see you again in a week! Take care! :)

My First Gameboy!

Well, it took some time, but I’ve finally ordered my first handheld gaming device! My choice fell upon the Gameboy Advance SP, a legendary piece of hardware. Not only does it run GBA games, but it is compatible with those old Gameboy and Gameboy Color ones as well. The unit I’ve purchased is in silver and looks real nice. I chose the SP version due it having several improvements over the vanilla version.

The Gameboy Advance SP

Up until now I’ve only had the privilege of owning stationary gaming devices. Now it’s time to take my gaming activities on the move. I’m very excited about this. Hope I’ll be happy with my purchase.

The first games I’m going to try out are the following:

Final Fight One for the GBA

Final Fight One for the GBA

- Final Fight One (I loved Final Fight on the Amiga – can’t wait to relive the frantic experience on the Gameboy)

- Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Played Mario Kart a LOT on the Nintendo 64. I just had to buy this game.)

- Pacman (I think Pacman still packs a lot of fun)

- Super Mario Advance

- Super Mario Advance: Super Mario World (Completed the SNES-version a few times. Will be nice to complete it on the Gameboy as well.)

I reckon this is a good start, but I’ll of course keep my eyes open for other games. If you have some suggestions for games I should try out, please leave a comment below. Thanks in advance. :)
