Hi there,

Today I’ve got some updates concerning the Viva Amiga documentary project by Zach Weddington. If you are not familiar with this upcoming film, please have a look at one of my earlier posts about it. :)

Without further ado, here’s the news from the author’s blog:

Here’s what’s been happening!

I’ve been able to get a good amount of editing done on the story cut, but I found that working a very demanding job was sucking away all my free time. And also, all my down time was wasted at work too: I could have been doing more editing during the day, but understandably, my boss wasn’t keen on me editing my film at work.

So I did something I have been dreaming of doing forever.

I broke free and am doing my own production company full-time.

Please check it out and tell your friends. We are open for business.

I got a great client already and am already making great videos for them…all out of my home office. And I’ve got WAY more time for the film! This is the spirit of the Amiga as I always saw it. Just doing it yourself, right?

I am reenergized and excited about the film like never before! My creativity is at a peak now!

So we will be on track. I promised story edit this fall. It’ll be there in about 6 weeks. And yeah, finished film late next year.

Stay tuned everyone. Thanks again for the support.

Zach

Really looking forward to watch the documentary when its ready! :)

Have a nice day and thanks for reading!

Hi guys,

Today I received an e-mail from Kickstarter and Zach Weddington concerning the upcoming Viva Amiga documentary film. Thought you might be interested in reading it, as it contains information about the current status of the project. It’s good to see that Mr. Weddington is on schedule. :)

Anyway, here’s the update:

Project Update #18: Viva Amiga Update

Folks, the film is happening. Just wanted to let everyone know what’s up. I’ve been quiet, but that’s because I’ve been in the lab and making it all make sense. I will get back to all of you, I promise. And man, we have incredible footage and interviews.

Here’s some insight into how a project like this is managed:

We are in the editing phase, and its flowing right along. I developed a strategy before shooting that is working quite well. I outlined the story before I began shooting with a fantastic app called Scrivener. We shot, and now I am breaking the footage down and sorting all of it into various topics and story points. I am sorting the clips according to the “skeleton” I made and making it flow according to the story arc.

By the end of the fall, we will have a “content cut”…that is the interviews and any narration that composes a framework of the film. After that comes “B-roll”, camera captured imagery and archival footage, to illustrate the various topics, and then a layer of animation to supplement. After that, of course is the soundtrack. Finally, we have a color corrector on board with the film now, who will give the movie a distinct color palette and rich shading. He works for the NFL doing high-end commercial work. Yep. This is the real deal, guys.

So bear with me as we move through this process. It’s a long one, but I will have you a finished film next year. We are on schedule.

Viva Amiga, my friends. Yeah.

It’s great to see that progress is being made. Really looking forward to get the film when its finished. :)

Hello guys,

Some of you might remember my post about Zach Weddington, the producer of the Viva Amiga documentary, visiting Europe to do some footage. He has now written a report of his journey overseas. You can read it in full by following this link. There you’ll find many photos and interesting information about his trip.

Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. :)

Can’t wait to see the documentary when it is finished. It will be awesome, I’m pretty sure of that. :)

Viva Amiga: Amiga Party in Holland

Hi folks,

Today I’ve got some fresh news concerning the Viva Amiga documentary and the man behind it all, namely Zach Weddington.

According to the news posted at Amigaworld.net by Sananaman, Weddington will be visiting the Amiga Party in Holland on the 7th of April 2012. The event is being hosted by AmigaScene, which is a Dutch website, and the location is the CKC Center in Zoetermeer. The party starts at 10:00 and will continue until 22:00. If you’re interested in participating, you can send a request to party@amigascene.nl or check out the official webpage (AmigaScene – Amiga Party) for more information.

Weddington will be visiting Europe to make some footage for his documentary. The Amiga Party will be perfect for this, since Weddington will get the opportunity to talk to Amiga demo enthusiasts from all over Europe.

Here’s a video from him about the upcoming event. Enjoy! :)

This is great news and I must say I’m really looking forward to seeing the documentary in full when it is released.

Are any of you going to visit this event?
