The Hunt for the Amiga CD32: Part Five

Hi everyone,

The Amiga CD32 has arrived! Woo hoo! Picked it up at the Post Office earlier today. πŸ™‚ I’ve already hooked it up to the TV and given it a nice spot near my Amiga 1200. I’m sure they will enjoy each others company. πŸ˜‰

I’m very happy about the purchase and I must send a big thanks to the seller, Airey36. Not only did he ship the package quickly, but the packaging was excellent as well. He used a LOT of paper, bubble wrap and cardboard to secure the precious hardware.

I’ve taken a few photos of the unboxing and of my new setup. Hope you’ll enjoy the pictures!

  1. Yay, glad you finally got it in the end. It’s looks to be a nice condition and looks great next your A1200. I bet it’s been getting some hammer this weekend! Any titles that you been playing or want to add to your collection?

    Take care

    • Hi Stiggy,

      Thanks for your comment. πŸ™‚

I’m very happy with it and I’m glad it is in good shape. It’ll have to work hard this weekend, no doubt about that. I’m sure the CD32 is happy that it is being used. πŸ˜‰

Have a lot of different titles to check out, but have had a go at Defender of the Crown, Banshee, Beneath a Steel Sky (with speech) and some others. Great stuff.

I’ve made a small wanted list over titles I’m looking for. Simon the Sorcerer is one of them. The CD32 version has speech, which I think is pretty cool. I’ve got the original for Amiga 1200, but that version is “speechless”. πŸ˜‰ Also looking for games like Super Stardust, Alien Breed 3D and UFO: Enemy Unknown. So much to get!

      Take care mate!

  2. Very nice, I have a CD32 in the loft, in very nice condition, must get it down and have a play. I remember playing Microcosm which was very pretty, although the game play left a bit to be desired, Diggers which was cute and the superb Liberation which I would recommend.

    • Hi there Aliennerd,

Thank you for your comment. πŸ™‚

Cool that you’ve got an Amiga CD32 in the attic. Hope you’ll get it down from there in the near future, so that you can try it again. It is a nice, little system.

I agree with you about Microcosm. Great intro, excellent graphics, but the gameplay is not very involving.

Maybe you can do a post on your blog about your CD32 when you bring it down?
