Hi everyone,
The Amiga CD32 has arrived! Woo hoo! Picked it up at the Post Office earlier today. π I’ve already hooked it up to the TV and given it a nice spot near my Amiga 1200. I’m sure they will enjoy each others company. π
I’m very happy about the purchase and I must send a big thanks to the seller, Airey36. Not only did he ship the package quickly, but the packaging was excellent as well. He used a LOT of paper, bubble wrap and cardboard to secure the precious hardware.
I’ve taken a few photos of the unboxing and of my new setup. Hope you’ll enjoy the pictures!

Now I’m off to check out the CD32 further. π
Have a good evening folks and thanks for reading! π
Just before the weekend! π

Yay, glad you finally got it in the end. It’s looks to be a nice condition and looks great next your A1200. I bet it’s been getting some hammer this weekend! Any titles that you been playing or want to add to your collection?
Take care

Hi Stiggy,
Thanks for your comment. π
I’m very happy with it and I’m glad it is in good shape. It’ll have to work hard this weekend, no doubt about that. I’m sure the CD32 is happy that it is being used. π
Have a lot of different titles to check out, but have had a go at Defender of the Crown, Banshee, Beneath a Steel Sky (with speech) and some others. Great stuff.
I’ve made a small wanted list over titles I’m looking for. Simon the Sorcerer is one of them. The CD32 version has speech, which I think is pretty cool. I’ve got the original for Amiga 1200, but that version is “speechless”. π Also looking for games like Super Stardust, Alien Breed 3D and UFO: Enemy Unknown. So much to get!
Take care mate!

Very nice, I have a CD32 in the loft, in very nice condition, must get it down and have a play. I remember playing Microcosm which was very pretty, although the game play left a bit to be desired, Diggers which was cute and the superb Liberation which I would recommend.

Hi there Aliennerd,
Thank you for your comment. π
Cool that you’ve got an Amiga CD32 in the attic. Hope you’ll get it down from there in the near future, so that you can try it again. It is a nice, little system.
I agree with you about Microcosm. Great intro, excellent graphics, but the gameplay is not very involving.
Maybe you can do a post on your blog about your CD32 when you bring it down?

Yes I think it’s about time I rescued it from the loft and checked it’s still working!

That sounds good. π Looking forward to hear all about it. If you need some some download links for ISO’s, please give me a sign.

Do you also have the game Kang Fu? I always wondered how it would play. I remember that the programmers said it would take full advantage of the machine.

Hi mate,
Have not played Kang Fu unfortunately, only seen pictures of it. The reviews I’ve read in Amiga magazines were not very positive though.. it got crushed in Amiga Format – they gave the game 20%. That does of course make it a bit tempting to try the game. Can it be this bad? π

Oh really? What was so bad about it? I never played it myself so I could not say.

Neither have I. π Amiga Format claims that it is truly horrible. I’ve found a scan of the review for you. You can check it out here:

I’m going to find an ISO of this game to test. I’ll get back to you concerning it and I might do a small review as well. Might be that it is actually quite cool? π

Hi Coder! The ISO has been downloaded. I’m going to give the game a go. π

It got good reviews in Germany:

Nice independent game. Playability should have been better, you really needed to get into it.

That was a really bad review. I am curious about your take on this once you played it.

My burner is still not working properly. π¦ Doesn’t seem like my CD32 will be running Kang Fu until this problem is solved. Hopefully I’ll manage to fix it during the weekend.

Fingers crossed! π

Thanks mate, but it doesn’t look too good. π¦ Have spent some time trying to solve the problem, but got nothing yet. Seems like my Kang Fu-experience will be delayed. Fortunately I’ve got a lot of other titles to play with in the meantime. π

At least for now we sort of can believe it is a really good game. π

We sure can. π It’s actually so good that my Windows-PC is afraid that I’ll ditch it in favour of the Amiga CD32. π
