Hi everyone,

Got some good news for AmigaOS 4.1 users today. Turns out that the always productive Hugues “HunoPPC” Nouvel has released Open Beats of Rage 3.0 for AmigaOS 4.1!

Beats of Rage is basically a customizable video game engine by Senile Team. It draws inspiration from the Streets of Rage series we know from SEGA. With the Beats of Rage engine, people can make their own beat’em up games without any prior knowledge of programming. The engine was first released on PC (MS-DOS) back in 2003, but has since grown and been ported to a wide range of systems.

The release by Mr. Nouvel is what is called OpenBOR (Open Beats of Rage). This project aims to give more functionality to Beats of Rage and features several enhancements over the original. It’s worth mentioning that OpenBOR is freeware and open source.

Here’s a video from YouTube showing OpenBOR in action with a game called Night Slashers X (beware.. this game footage contains gore):

    • Hi there,

      Thanks for commenting. 🙂

I haven’t seen any videos of the complete version of OpenBOR 3.0 running on AmigaOS 4.1 yet. There’s a video by HunoPPC from the 28th of November 2011 that shows you the unfinished 3.0 build though. 🙂

      Check it out:
