Still Alive and Kicking: Quick Update!

Hi everyone,

It has been far too long since I posted on this blog. My last post was back in January 2013, which is several months ago. How time flies!

I’m going to start posting more often again. Spring is coming and with the sun and the warm weather comes extra energy for writing. πŸ˜‰

In the future I will write a bit more about SEGA related hardware and software, since I’ve started investigating this platform. I’ve never been a SEGA gamer, but it is never too late to start. Being a big fan of old-school shoot’em up’s, I’m going to try to track down some games belonging to that genre. If you have some SEGA shooters (or other types of games) to recommend, please comment below. Thanks in advance. By the way.. I got the Mega Drive console, which I think looks very nice. πŸ™‚

This does not mean I won’t write about the Amiga of course, since that will always be my favorite platform.

Anyway, hope you all are doing well and that the retro gaming spirit is still burning out there.

Game on! πŸ˜€

Before I forget.. have you seen the winner of the old school demo competition at the Revision 2013 party that was held during Easter? If not, please have a look at this splendid Amiga production below.. Lemon is back in action again! πŸ™‚

PS: A special greeting must go out to Mads for waking me up from my slumber… hehe… thanks! πŸ™‚ Also greetings to all readers of my blog!

  1. Great to see you back and writing! πŸ™‚
I’m surprised and happy to see that you will write about Sega games. I never had a Sega console “back in the days”, until I bought the Dreamcast in 2000. I recently purchased a new old stock Megadrive from eBay, and I got some games for it from outdoor markets. I also got a Saturn with a bunch of games.
I think that the Megadrive games are often better than the Super Nintendo version, so I have started to like this console more and more. πŸ™‚

I recommend a couple of YouTube channels that have destroyed my life and made me want all kinds of old games:
    Retro Hunters (stopped now): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL86FED64145722EFE
    Game Chasers (season 1): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL362AFA9A4DBB1501

    • Hei Mads,

Hehe.. got your e-mail and I figured I had to get cracking at blogging again. πŸ™‚

That is similar to what I started to feel. I love some of the SNES and other Nintendo games, but the SEGA got a bit more “rougher” stuff if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the links. Will have a looksy. πŸ™‚

      Will write you soon. πŸ˜‰

  2. Helloooooooooooooo, nice to see you up and blogging again.

There’s quite a few shooters on the MD and I’m partial to a spot of Thunderforce now and again. The MD also has plenty of nice Amiga ports too, some even better than miggy too.

    Take care

  3. I know I have some Sega games on my blog somewhere amongst the game posts. Glad to hear you are doing good. I am still on my first semester of college and preparing for my second.

      • If the game is a Sega Genesis game it is Mega Drive. Mega Drive and Genesis are the same system, it was called Genesis for the States because Sega couldn’t get the rights to use Mega Drive in the U.S.
