Amiga Format: Christmas 1993 – Issue 54

Hi all,

We are approaching December and I thought we could celebrate that by having a quick peek at an old computer magazine I have in my collection. It is the Christmas edition of Amiga Format from 1993. The item is over 20 years old, but it doesn’t feel like it when I’m reading it. Perhaps I’m stuck in an Amiga time bubble or something. 😀

As some of you might know, Amiga Format was at the time of print (1993) the worlds best selling Amiga magazine. This would change later on as CU Amiga grew in strength, but that’s another story.

I have taken a few pics of the mag for you to look at, so here goes:

The magazine totals 259 (!) pages, which is quite a lot. There are many adverts to see, but tons of cool articles as well. I really miss being able to go to the kiosk and purchase Amiga Format, CU Amiga or The One. The only option these days are Amiga Future, but it is only available through mail-order.

Now I’m off to read a bit more in the magazine – catch you later in another post. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

    • Hi there!

Thanks for visiting my blog and for commenting. 🙂

Cool to see a former reader of Amiga Power here! That magazine was for sure something special – lot’s of humour and crazy stuff. 😀 Loved their honesty when it came to games though.. Rise of the Robots comes to mind.. Amiga Power told people that ROTR sucked, other mags hyped it. The truth? ROTR sucked. 🙂

  1. I think had that issue. I used to have maybe 50 issues. Unfortunately, I left them all at my parents when I moved out (no space for them) and about 10 years ago my mum threw them all out in a spring clean 😦

    • Hi! Thanks for the comment. 🙂 A shame your mom threw those old treasures, but you might still be lucky to find a joblot of them on eBay for example. Personally I like browsing these old mags to read reviews and get new ideas for games to play.

  2. I remember this issue. My brother and I played Cannon Soccer a few times that Christmas, but couldn’t beat it. Thanks for posting!
