Hi guys,

Thanks for visiting Old School Game Blog. ๐Ÿ™‚ If you’d like to receive an e-mail every time I write a new post, please subscribe in the menu on the right hand side of the screen. Thanks in advance. ๐Ÿ™‚

What kind of joysticks do you use for your Amiga? Do you have any special favorites?

I have a few favorites myself and one of these is the one from Cheetah called The Bug. I also love the TAC-2, but unfortunately my thumb is not what it used to be after an accident, so it’s better for me to use another finger for the fire button. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hence The Bug is perfect for me.

Sadly I haven’t had The Bug for years now, but recently I decided to pick up two of them on eBay. They arrived this week and I’ve had a lot of fun trying them out. Both worked right away and plays very well.

As you can see from the photo above, The Bug has quite a different design than your average joystick. It fits perfectly in the palm and you control the stick with your other hand. I saw Dan Wood of The Retro Hour holding it differently in a video on YouTube, so I guess there are several possibilities. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It is very precise in its controls, so perfect (in my opinion) for shoot’em up games like Banshee.

I’m very happy with my new controls and look forward to completing Banshee in the near future. I’ve never managed to reach the end of this game, but have been close, so hopefully The Bug will give me the edge I need. ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyone else loving The Bug out there?

Thanks for reading and have a good weekend guys!
