Amiga 600
The Amiga 600 - Still being developed for in 2011

Good news for those of you that are interested in powering up your Amiga 600. An Amiga enthusiast named Igor Majstorovic has spent a lot of time working on a new FPGA-based turbo-card for this computer. It is based on the Tg68-core, which will be used in the next version of the Minimig.

Majstorovic’s new accelerator has not been released yet, but he is currently waiting for a prototype to arrive. It will interesting to follow the progress in the weeks to come.

There are currently discussions going on about this project at Amiga.org and the English Amiga Board (EAB). Please head over there to find more information.

A video about the project has been uploaded to YouTube. You can check it out below:

  1. Nice! I still have my A600. Bought it with my hard earned cash (summer job). ๐Ÿ™‚ Just love the (like the A1200) the keyboard. It feels really good when typing.

  2. Good to hear that you still have your Amiga 600, Coder! Do you have any extras for it? HD for example? It is a cute little machine. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, the A1200 keyboard is awesome. I like it a lot better than my PC keyboard. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Nice! 40MB HD? That’s incredible small compared to todays standards. ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember those HD-packages they sold. Which one did you get? Was it the Wild, Weird and Wicked bundle?

  3. 40MB was unheard of. You would never fill it all up. I don’t remember being it a package of some sort. Just the A600HD. I had no idea you special bundles for the A600.

  4. Nice to see that many people noticed my video. I did not send board for production because i found some problems with pcb design. It is very hard to assign all signals in 100×100 2 layer board. I dont want to use 4 layer board because this could get price higher 5 times then 2 layer board. Or maybe i ll need to find other pcb manufacturer.

    • Thank for your comment, Majsta. Good luck with your project! Please keep us updated on the progress. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure there are plenty of Amiga 600’s out there that could benefit from your turbo-card.
