Hi everyone,

I’ve got some good news for owners of classic Amiga systems today. A new game has been released and it is completely free to download. It is a 2D platform game called Mr. Beanbag! I love these kind of games, so I’m really looking forward to try it out. I’m going to do a review of it as well.

The game is AGA only, so you’ll need an Amiga 1200 or 4000 to run it.

The news was first posted by Toaks at Amigaworld.net on the 28th of December 2011. I’ve included it below for you to read:

The AGA game MrBeanbag! is now finished and released.

MrBeanbag! is released as βeta since there is still bugs/issues,but most likely they won’t be fixed.

MrBeanbag! is a really fast paced Platformer/Jump’n Run game ala Sonic The Hedgehog and was meant to be a fully commercial title a few years back, the development cycle stagnated and the developers put the project on hold as they needed a break, luckily they picked up development again and released this beta to the community.

MrBeanbag! has 17 levels, great graphics and sound and it does feel like a final commerical product.

If you’d like to download the game, you can click here for the .ADF version or here for the HD-version. The official homepage of Mr. Beanbag! can be found here.

I also found a video on YouTube of the gameplay, which you can watch for yourself below:

Hope you’ll enjoy the game on your classic Amiga or through WinUAE. 🙂

I’d also like to wish all of you out there a happy new year! 🙂

  1. Fantastic news. I’ve been itching to unpack my 1200 for some time now so its with perfect timing that you posted this.

It such a wonderful time to be a fan of classic systems of late as there’s been so many great homebrew titles released for everything bewteen the zx81 to the c64, the Atari 2600 to the Dreamcast. Just the other day I was playing a new game on the Commodore 16 and having so much fun I lost track of time, surely a sign of a great game.

A happy new year to you.
