Hi everyone,
Yesterday I made video of my Amiga 1200 running three first person shooters. These are Alien Breed 3D from Team 17, Breathless from Fields of Vision and Doom II by ID Software. π You’ll find the video below. Hope you like it!
If you want to read more about first person shooters on the Amiga, please have a look at this post on my blog. There you’ll find a list of most of the FPS games released for this computer. π
The format of the video seems to be a bit different from what I expected, so I’ll probably replace it this evening with one that isn’t as “widescreen” as this one. It didn’t look like this before I uploaded it to Vimeo.
Have a good retro-gaming weekend folks!
I think I would need a bit more memory to get them working properly. I did grab a bunch of memory modules I still had at my parents so who knows.

Hi mate,
Are you using that 4MB RAM-board you talked about? Should be enough for Alien Breed 3D and Gloom as far as I know. π

Never heard of the other two, but they seem pretty cool.
BTW. My house is thoroughly interested in Raspberry PI, so hopefully if the distributor for the U.S. has them in I might order one. My nephew and myself were pretty impressed checkout some other vids of it on youtube and checking out the website’s information.

Hi mate,
Thanks for commenting. π
Now that is interesting news! If you’ve trouble getting it shipped to the U.S, I’d be happy to order one for you and send it to you privately. I will of course pay for the item and you can pay me back later when you’ve received the goods. Feel free to drop me an e-mail if you’re interested. π

That was really cool to see them in motion π Can’t believe you have 128mb RAM on an A1200 though, that’s massive for a computer of that vintage!

Hi Sean,
Many thanks for commenting. π
I’ll try to do more videos in the future. There are quite a few FPS on the Amiga that I want to show, especially Gloom Deluxe (FPS shoot’em up style).
128MB is a bit of a overkill for my usage, but it is fun to have nevertheless. Don’t have to worry about running out of memory! π
