Greetings everyone,
Toni Wilen has done it – he has now managed to boot AmigaOS 4.1! Have a look at this thread on EAB:

I’m amazed he’s made such progress in such a short amount of time. A big congratulations must go out to him for this achievement! π

Anyway, needless to say I’m eager to test out AmigaOS 4.1 Classic myself through WinUAE. π Anyone else tempted?
Have a good weekend everyone and thanks for visiting my blog. π
I wonder how Hyperion and ACube feels about it.

I’m curious about that as well. Have not read anything from them concerning this. I believe Hyperion should be happy for extra income for more sales of AmigaOS 4.1 Classic. I’ve seen several people now stating they’ve ordered copies from AmigaKit. However, hardware makers A-Cube and A-EON, how will this affect them? Time will show. π Maybe some of those who gets the OS for WinUAE wants to get a bite of the *real* thing and purchase Amiga hardware afterwards? What do you think? π

My view is that running AmigaOS 4.1 with WinUAE sounds pretty cool tech-wise but it does not look like a reason for buying the software and make a real use of it. I don’t see this as a sale booster for the A-* hardware.
For sure it would be a nice thing for anyone developing software for AmigaOS π

Yes, developers will find it very useful I think. I guess time will show what happens – it’ll be exciting to follow the developments. π Whatever happens, Amiga rulez. π
