Good evening,

Observant readers of my blog and followers on Twitter might have noticed I got myself an old iBook G4 Mac to run MorphOS on. It is up and running and working fine. The computer feels fast and everything is quick and responsive. I’ve got lots and lots of software to try, which is cool. For those of you who are unfamiliar with MorphOS, please have a look here for more information.

I must say I’m positively surprised with MorphOS. Why? I will give you a quick explanation.

First of all, I must say the installation went incredibly smooth and easy. I downloaded an .ISO of the OS from here, burnt it onto a CD and inserted it into the iBook. I then booted the computer and followed the instructions. Everything took less than 30 minutes. Best of all, everything worked right out of the box, even Internet with the built-in WiFi (had to type my password of course). Excellent!

It is safe to say that MorphOS have the old Mac a new life and a promising future. If you have an old Mac gathering dust, why not bring it back from the shadows and install MorphOS on it? 😉

I will write more about my new computer/OS in the future, so stay tuned for more MorphOS info.

Thanks for reading and have a good night!

  1. Looks good! Sounds like you had a smoother deal of installing everything.

I couldn’t get Puppy Arcade to work on my machine properly, so I had to reinstall Peppermint.

    • You are lucky, I was trying to install MorphOS on a PowerBook G4 12″ but I was unlucky as the video card is not supported, ended up installing on a MacMini G4
