Hi there,
It’s Sunday morning and I thought I’d introduce you to the “new” LCD-TV I got for my Amiga 1200. π
Up until now I’ve used a big, grey Philips CRT-TV, but the problem was that it took up too much space. Due to it being absolutely gigantic at the back, I had to move the table away from the wall to make it fit. It also made a high-frequency noise that apparantly my wife and daughter could hear, while I could not register it at all. π So, a choice was made to switch to a different screeen.
I was lucky to get a second-hand TV for free from a neighbour who was going to throw it away at the skip! π The TV was fully functional, but a bit old, so they hadn’t any use for it. So I took it home and tested it and it worked fine.
I use a RGB to SCART cable to connect it to the Amiga. The picture quality is pretty good, but not as good as the CRT. Better for the eyes though, I must admit that. π I also got more space at the desk and around it, so happy about that. Have not had any complaints on high-frequency beeping either, hehe. π
Most use AMOS Pro, Deluxe Paint and a few games and everything look OK with this screen. Guess the image quality could be improved with Indivision AGA or another type of scan doubler, but it is good enough for now I think. π
My good, old Amiga 1200 is still going strong, but definitely needs a recap at some point. Works fine though.
Wish you all a nice Sunday and hope your Amigas are doing well. π
Consider the OSSC.
