AmiWest 2021 – Celebrating the 36th Year of the Amiga Era

Hi everyone,

Thanks for visiting Old School Game Blog. 🙂

It’s October and soon time for this years AmiWest event. This is the 24th show celebrating the 36th year of the Amiga era and over two decades of AmiWest and related events. The dates are set to October 16th and October 17th, at the Holiday Inn Express Cal Expo, 2244 Auburn Blvd., Sacramento, California 95821, USA.

The schedule for the show and for the live stream can be found here:

Amongst the speakers this year are Trevor Dickinson of A-Eon Technology and Jens Schönfeld of Individual Computers. A full list can be found via the link above.

Hopefully there will be some interesting announcements this year concerning new products and developments, especially the upcoming A1222 / Tabor. Will we get a release date for this computer? I sure hope so. There are plenty of discussions going on in various Amiga forums about when the A1222 will be available for purchase.

As of today, it is incredibly hard to obtain an AmigaOS 4.x compatible system. Even AmigaKit are out of X5000’s. Some months ago ACube Systems made a new batch of Sam460’s and they sold out right away. ACube are hoping to be able to make another batch in the near future, but time will show. It is probably difficult to find enough of all the parts needed these days. Anyway, a release date for the A1222 would help a lot and give a positive boost to the AmigaOS 4 community, and the Amiga community in general.

Thanks for reading and see you in another post here on Old School Game Blog! 🙂
