Yoodoo2 wrote a Mini AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup on Amigans!

Hi there,

Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂 Hope all is well. Here the rain is pouring down outside, and I therefore thought it was a good opportunity to share a quick bit of news. Also, our dog, Trygve, is sleeping at the side here on a blanket.

New Roundup

I visited Amigans.net today, and to my delight I noticed that Yoodoo2 had posted a mini AmigaOS 4 Monthly roundup! You can find it here:

Mini AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup for August 2026

Even though the author claimed it was a “mini” version, I thought it was more than large enough and it covered a vast amount of news. Great work, and hope these will continue to be released! Also, which is worth mentioning, is that the author wrote the piece without AI.

Hope you’ll check out the roundup, there certainly has been a lot happening in the world of AmigaOS 4 since summer.

Troubles with Sam440EP

As for me, I’ve been trying to get my Sam440EP up to speed. It is not working properly at all. It won’t show anything on the screen if connected directly to it via a VGA-cable (I use a DVI to VGA-cable), but I do get an image if it is connected through an OSSC scan doubler. The problem then, is that it struggles to boot AmigaOS 4. I’ve managed to make it boot into Workbench most times now, but once I do something on the screen, it suddenly reboots back to the BIOS screen, and then starts the whole process of starting the OS again. This also happens when I boot the OS directly from CD. Got some help from Elwood and some other folks over on the Amigans Discord and tried a few of the tips, like rubbing the RAM-stick, but nothing helped. Now I will try a different monitor, an old one, to see if it works. Fingers crossed!

Classic Experience

Apart from that I’ve spent some time setting up a nice AmigaOS 3.2.3 desktop. Still “working” on that, but it is mostly relaxing fun changing icons, installing a few utilities, and so forth. Also looking into some Void projects, but time will show if anything cool materializes. 😉

Anyway, thanks for visiting Old School Game Blog, and hope you enjoyed this little piece. Please have a look at the roundup, and if you have some helpful tips for my poor Sam440EP, please feel free to e-mail me at punivoid at protonmail dot com.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Best regards,

Puni / AmigaOldskooler
