As I’m enjoying a stock Amiga 1200 now, I was looking for a decent updated anti-virus solution. I found what I was looking for on the website of the Virus Help Team in Denmark and Canada. This group was started in the 1990’s and is still working to protect our precious Amiga’s from all kinds of viruses, like the Lamer Exterminator, Byte Bandit and so forth. The website was updated this year, in 2021.

Whether you have an old system running Kickstart 1.2 or a newer one with Kickstart 2.04 or higher, you’ll find free anti-virus software to download.

I downloaded an image of a bootable disk with anti-virus on it and I can now use this one to check the system itself and floppies I try. Excellent!

Besides downloads, the website has an encyclopedia with a huge list of viruses, a discussion forum, a help section and more. Even if you don’t need a new virus killer, it is worth reading about the old viruses and how they worked. Some amazing stuff in there, that’s for sure. 🙂
