Gaming on AmigaOS 4.1: Gem Drop X (Bill Kendrick / ToAks)

Hi everyone,

This evening I downloaded quite a few games from OS4Depot.net. There are a lot of titles on there I’ve never tried before, so thought I’d do some testing. 😉

One of the games I downloaded was Gem Drop X. Originally made for Linux by Bill Kendrick, it was ported to AmigaOS 4 by ToAks. This game is similar to titles like Klax and Tetris, since you need to match up objects to remove them from the screen. If the objects comes too close to the bottom, the game is over. The concept is pretty straight forward and it takes only seconds to get into, which is great. I had a go and found it fun. Good controls, music in the background, increasing difficulty. Nice!

If you want to check it out for yourself, you can download it from OS4Depot.net here:

Or you can watch the video I made of the gameplay:

It is probably not the most exciting footage, but it does the job of showing the game in action. 😉

Thanks for visiting my blog and see you in another post here or on Old School Game Blog. Cheers!
